Tap Mat

IM’s most versatile trigger was originally designed to withstand repeated kicks and stomps from patients working on standing balance. Depending on where you place it (or what you place it on) the same trigger can work on dorsiflexion or plantar flexion.

But the Tap Mat isn’t just for stomping anymore. The Tap Mat is completely touch sensitive and can also be brought to the table top and register light keystroke touch. Place a print out of piano keys or a computer keyboard and have your clients tap out their goal to IM’s beat. Suddenly you move from static fine motor exercises to a complex suite of skills involving visual tracking, scanning, saccades, language processing and fine motor precision. The IM insures that they repeat the exercise over and over with greater precision. Now that is stepping up your therapy plan!
