Introduction to Pediatric Best Practices
This course will introduce participants to temporal processing theory and research. Participants
will be guided through basic information pertaining to use of the Interactive Metronome with
infants and children, with special consideration for modifications to content structure,
duration and environment. Ideas will be shared re: clinical application and case studies will
illustrate application of pediatric best practices within the context of IM treatment for timing
and rhythm to enhance overall treatment outcomes.

Introduction to Adult Best Practices
The need for ongoing training and education of certified Interactive Metronome providers for
clinical application within adult rehabilitation has been identified. This course introduces the
certified IM Provider to research in order to support evidence-based practice, as well as
advanced practice guidelines and techniques applicable to adult neuro and ortho clinical
populations. Photos will be shared to illustrate best practices.

Use of IM in the Schools
Many Interactive Metronome Providers work within a variety of school-based settings. For this
reason, it is often necessary to vary the set-up and application of IM within this population
group. One of the key themes that has arisen when addressing questions for school providers is
the need to be creative, flexible and above all, patient in order to get IM up and running in
the schools. This course will provide a broad base of knowledge to cover all academic
establishments and to give IM providers the tools they need to transition to the next step in
Interactive Metronome use ““ whether it be related to finding funding, communicating with
administration or fine-tuning an already established program. Course material will be in
power-point style with easy to use reference lists and learning tools. Photographic examples
will be presented to illustrate salient points.
